Did you know that June 21 is National Selfie Day? If you didn’t and now find yourself scrambling to think up ways to achieve that scroll-stopping pic—don’t worry! We’ve outlined some snap-worthy photo-op spots to give you an idea of what Edmonton has to offer the ‘gram.

Wolf Mural
Located underneath the bridge next to Grandin Fish ‘N’ Chips and along the High Level Streetcar tracks is this hidden gem—featuring a wolf clutching a skull and shooting thunderbolts out of its eyes. If you’re looking to add a pop of black-and-white to your feed, this is a must-stop.

Crawford Block Mural
Just off Whyte Ave, beside the Mexican hole-in-the-wall restaurant El Cortez, is the stunning, brightly-coloured, six-story mural painted by the internationally renowned artist Okuda San Miguel. Featuring a geometric humanoid dog, cats, trees, mountains, and plenty of hot pink this wall would make for an epic background for that Instagram-worthy selfie.

Alberta Legislature Plaza
Take an iconic selfie at the Alberta Legislature Plaza. With lights projected into rows of small fountains, and the Legislature building in the background, this spot makes for a great Edmonton selfie. The plaza even offers a selfie checkpoint for photo-ops, which allows you to perfectly line up a shot.

Strathearn Park
Capturing the perfect skyline selfie is easy at this great location. Located just above the Muttart Conservatory, this pleasant stretch of greenspace is great for a stroll and to admire the view. Walk along Strathearn Crescent for the best viewpoint—you can also connect to many walking paths along the river valley!

High Level Street Car
Take your selfie to new heights! The high level street car is a fun and affordable way to get from downtown to Whyte Ave., (or vice versa) and makes for a perfect selfie opportunity when you travel across the 156 ft. high bridge over the North Saskatchewan River. The street car has two terminals, traveling from Jasper Ave. to Gateway Boulevard with a few stops in between.
