Play the fool festival | Sept 22 – 25

Edmonton’s favourite clown festival is back this weekend! Play the Fool is excited to be welcoming in person audiences to celebrate both emerging and established clown theatre and physical comedy performances. Check out Something in the Water, a comedic deep dive into gender and identity, or grab tickets to one of the Triple Bill shows to experience clown theatre from all across the country.

Edmonton international film festival | Sept 22 – Oct 1

Are you a film fanatic? If so, this is the event for you! Showcasing indie filmmakers from a broad variety of genres, the Edmonton Film Festival is one of five Oscar qualifying film festivals in Canada. Check out their website for a full film guide.

Edmonton Pro Rodeo | Sept 23 – 24

Hosted by C5 Rodeo and Explore Edmonton, the Edmonton Pro Rodeo returns this weekend! Featuring some of North America’s best rodeo athletes and stock, this event is one of the final stops before the Canadian Rodeo Finals. Check it out this weekend at the Edmonton EXPO Centre for tons of exhilarating action.

Fall-o-ween pumpkin patch harvest | Sept 24 – 25

Check out the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market this weekend for a special event hosted by the Indigenous Artist Market Collective! In recognition of the upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, this celebration will feature performances by Indigenous artists, an indigenous marketplace, a pow-wow showcase on Saturday, and free arts and crafts workshops for all ages.

Punk rock flea market yeg | Sept 25

A punk rock inspired pop-up with be taking over The Aviary this weekend! Focusing on underground art and alternative fashion, this market will be featuring 15 different Edmonton creators and vendors. This event is free to attend so make sure to check it out to browse tons of unique items.

royal alberta museum – free admission | Sept 23 – 25

This is your reminder that admission to the Royal Alberta Museum is FREE this weekend, thanks to Alberta Culture Days! Although the museum is sold out of pre-booked tickets, they are still allowing walk-up admission if capacity allows. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience western Canada’s largest museum for free!

Deadmonton | Sept 23 – Nov 5

Deadmonton returns for their 9th season! They will be offering two attractions this year: Icons of Darkness, which takes inspiration from your favourite horror movies, and Return of the Living Dead, a bone-chilling experience featuring several iconic horror figures.
