  1. Season’s greetings! We are bound for a long holiday weekend and as usual in Edmonton there are more than plenty of activities to satisfy everyone’s fancy. So whether you’re in the mood for a festive musical or a lively evening at the market there’s something for you to enjoy with your loved ones.
  2. 1. A Very Merry Pops | December 22-23
  3. A Very Merry Pops returns to the Winspear Centre with Stuart Chafetz as the conductor. Enjoy sentimental tunes such as “Let It Snow,” “Sleigh Ride,” “The First Noël,” “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” and more by Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
  4. 2. The Alberta Avenue Night Market : Holiday Edition | December 22 – 24
  5. Enjoy winter fun, hot drinks and food from the Avenue, a pop-up Avenue store for last minute gift purchasing. There will also be fat bike demonstrations, carollers, ice sculptures, and more! This is a free, family-friendly event. Walk or sled down the Avenue to complete the Alberta Avenue Scavenger Hunt. Roast chestnuts with Battista or test out a new game at Pe Metawe Games. Start your holiday season off right!
  6. 3. An Elegant Affair: A Very Count Basie Christmas! | December 23
  7. The Don Berner Big Band brings you the Christmas music of Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie in what promises to be an unforgettable evening of hard swinging hits and Christmas classics! Each year audiences fall in love with this Don Berner Big Band Christmas tradition and this year will be no exception. 
  8. 4. A Christmas Carol 2023 | until  December 23
  9. Can three ghosts really change Scrooge’s heart before it’s too late? A Christmas Carol by David van Belle is back at The Citadel. Based on the Charles Dickens classic, Edmonton’s favorite Christmas tradition is a perfect way to celebrate the holidays. Check out our raving review here
  10. 5. Candlelight Christmas at John Walter Museum | until December 23
  11. Candlelight Christmas at John Walter Museum includes two 45 minute musical performances from the McDades, musicians who have been a part of this special event for over 20 years. Doors open 30 minutes before the show starts. There will be an intermission with seasonal, family-friendly beverages.
  12. 6. DIE HARSH: A CHRISTMAS MUSICAL until December 23
  13. With a sold out run last year, Die Harsh is back for a second year, this time even bigger and better! The wigs have been dusted off, the Alan Rickman accents have been practiced, and the Grindstone team has been hard at work. A new multi-leveled set, a 3 piece band, even sexier German terrorists, 2 acts, and all on a bigger stage. 
  14. 7. Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe-Dinner and a Show! | until  December 23
  15. Celebrate the holiday season with family or treat your staff to dinner followed by a performance of Narnia at Festival Place. Featuring slow roast beef in red wine, turkey, perogies and all the trimmings! Served at 5p.m. Dinner and show packages can only be purchased directly through the box office.
