A magical journey of love and redemption

Citadel Theatre’s A Christmas Carol sparks joy, warmth, and holiday cheer. This adaptation of Charles Dickens’ beloved Christmas story is written by David van Belle and is complete with nostalgic holiday tunes like “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” a dazzling performance of “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas” and more. Truly a Christmas favourite, this Edmonton tradition is stunning, exciting, and will definitely get you in the Christmas mood!

This magical play of redemption stars John Ullyatt as the ever tempestuous Ebenezer Scrooge who on Christmas Eve is visited by three ghosts: the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Future/yet to come. Ever the anti-holiday grouch, will the visit of the three ghosts enlighten Scrooge or will he remain stuck in his cantankerous ways? David van Belle’s sparkling adaptation takes its audience on a memorable journey full of surprises and holiday spirit.

With an enchanting cast and fantastic set design, and music, this adaptation of A Christmas Carol is a must-see with family and friends. It does not disappoint! It will have you laughing, cheering, and weeping, but most importantly it will help you appreciate the merriment of the holiday season.
