Get ready to celebrate this year’s Full Spectrum Pride for LGBTQA2S+ communities! Now a colourful, energetic, and popular festival, Edmonton’s Pride history actually began as political activism and demonstrations against police raids.

And while thousands now flock to the city to celebrate, the first noted parade in the early 1980s was sparsely attended, with some participants even concealing their identities. Nearly 40 years later, this fun, cheerful, active, and supportive festival both embraces and radiates the concept of pride.

The incredibly entertaining and vibrant parade on June 9 will start at 11 am and travel down Whyte Avenue, ultimately culminating in an all-day park party in Old Strathcona. Meet new friends, party with old ones, and enjoy live music, theatre performances, historical tours, a beverage garden, and so much more.
