“In 2033, justice rides a tank and wears lip gloss” and in 2024, Metro Cinema is happy to welcome Rachel Talalay, the director of TANK GIRL (1995), to the Garneau Theatre for one night only!
The esteemed director and producer will be appearing on March 8th to introduce the film and host a live Q&A following it. She will also be introducing her first feature: FREDDY’S DEAD: THE FINAL NIGHTMARE (1991) later in the evening.
Come see TANK GIRL, a film people are calling “the original Barbenheimer,” in addition to the only female-directed NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET instalment ever as a double-feature on International Women’s Day!
Each screening will be priced consistently with our regular programming and FAVA members will receive a discount for $8 tickets at the door with proof of membership, thanks to FAVA’s sponsorship for this event. Additionally, those who purchase tickets to both screenings will receive a free small popcorn during TANK GIRL.
TANK GIRL screens March 8th at 6:45PM, with an introduction by Rachel Talalay prior to the film and a Q&A following it at 8:45PM.
FREDDY’S DEAD: THE FINAL NIGHTMARE will screen March 8th at 9:45PM, also with an introduction from Rachel Talalay.
