Canada’s Festival City more than lives up to its title this weekend as a slate of amazing festivals and events rolls into town. Stay safe, follow the guidelines, and enjoy some festive fun—here’s what’s on this weekend in Edmonton!

Get in on the action as the Canadian Derby returns to Century Mile on September 11th!

1) Hope Through Action | Sept. 10
Join the Canadian Mental Health Association for an evening of music, food, and community spirit in honour of World Suicide Prevention Day. Learn about resources available to help manage your mental health while enjoying the warmth of community connections.

2) Pop-Up Night Market at Collingwood | Sept. 10
Everyone is welcome at this night market, featuring local vendors, food trucks, a magic show, a bouncy slide, and much more! Free samples will be available to enjoy. Support local businesses while reveling in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

3) Beaumont Town and Country Daze | Sept. 10–12
This Beaumont festival, now celebrating over 125 years of fun, includes parades, a soapbox derby, a midway, and many more family-friendly entertainment and events. Be sure to catch the fireworks on Saturday night!

4) Kaleido on Tour | Sept. 10–12
The Kaleido Family Arts Festival is once again hitting the streets for Kaleido on Tour! Get ready to dance along with musicians and street performers, catch magical parades, and see enormous art pieces rolling through the Alberta Avenue District for a weekend of family-friendly fun.

5) Edmonton Tattoo and Arts Festival | Sept. 10–12
Over 200 artists and vendors are coming to the Edmonton Expo Centre for one of Canada’s largest tattoo shows! Enjoy live music, entertainment, contests, and, of course, expert-level tattooing.

6) Mural Massive | Sept. 10–12
This celebration of Edmonton’s vibrant arts and culture scene features local food and drinks, live music, an underground art auction, and, of course, live mural painting! Choose your own arts adventure with a multi-day block party extravaganza.

7) The Canadian Derby | Sept. 11
Western Canada’s biggest racing event is celebrating its 92nd year! Come down to Century Mile Racetrack and Casino for your piece of the action as Canada’s premier Grade III horses race for the grand prize. Tickets start at just $10!

8) Hellfighters | Sept. 11
Catch thrilling action on the big screen with the Canadian Energy Museum’s FREE screening of the 1968 film Hellfighters, starring John Wayne as oil well firefighter Red Adair. Free drinks and snacks are included. Seats are first-come, first-served, so arrive early to get your spot!

9) Afro Caribbean Summer Festival | Sept. 11
Join in on a celebration of Caribbean culture with food, fashion, music, and more as the Afro Caribbean Summer Festival comes to downtown Edmonton! This event is family-friendly and free to attend.

10) Edmonton International Street Performers Festival Pop-Up | Sept. 11
The beloved festival is coming to Root 107 Pop-Up Park for an afternoon of FREE family entertainment! Enjoy dance, acting, music, and more, as well as tasty eats and treats from Doppers Food Truck.

11) Savour Strathcona | Sept. 12
Join Strathcona County in celebrating their local arts and food scene with the Savour Strathcona Festival! Enjoy delicious food and locally-made art from talented vendors, as well as live music and entertainment. New for this year, there are no taste tickets; you can purchase food from each vendor individually.

12) Gotta Minute Film Festival | Starts Sept. 13
Catch incredible short films from around the world, wherever you go! Until September 26th, a selection of silent, one-minute short films will be screened on Edmonton Transit, at Edmonton Public Library branches, and online through the Film and Video Arts Society of Alberta website.
