Luminaria | November 23 – December 31

Luminaria is finally here! Head down to Alberta’s largest botanic garden for an evening inspired by alpine holiday markets. Explore the Village Square and Chalet for unique food and drinks and tons of festive lights. Then hop onto The Woodland Express for a ride through the forest to Sprites Hollow, a whimsical spot for children to play with the snow sprites and make holiday wishes. On top of these themed activities, there will also also the traditional Luminaria event located in the Kurimoto Japanese Garden, where guests can talk a quiet winter walk and light a candle in honour of their loved ones. Luminaria runs Wednesday to Sunday, from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. Make sure to book your tickets in advance!

Bearclaw Gallery’s Annual Christmas Exhibition | November 26 – December 31

Looking to stay warm while experience some fantastic local art? Bearclaw’s Annual Christmas Exhibition has got you covered! Marvel at new works from Bearclaw artists Jason Carter, Nancy Desjarlais, Jessica Desmoulin, Dianne Meili, Suzann Page, Linus Woods, and Leo Arcand. Plus, the gallery will also be selling special holiday gift items like crocheted hats and mittens, beadwork, stained glass ornaments, and so much more!

The Innocence of Trees | November 22 – December 11

Theatre Network opened their 48th season with the striking story of Agnes Martin, a beloved painter reflecting on beauty, truth, and innocence with her younger self. Touching, poignant, and contemplative, this play is a must-see for all theatre lovers. Stay tuned for our review!

Kingsway Holiday Parade | November 26

This holiday parade is the perfect way to kickstart the festive season! It begins at 5:00pm and will feature floats from local organizations and festivals. Check out their website for a full map of the route and to find more info on viewing areas.

Imperial Sovereign Court of the Wild Rose: The Annual Holiday Pageant | November 25

Everyone’s favourite holiday drag pageant is on this weekend! Head down to the Matrix Hotel for a night of fun and fundraising for the LGBTQS+ community in Edmonton. Watch several queens compete and help crown the winner by voting for your favourite performer!

Kappella Kyrie: Seen the True Light | November 26

Join Kappella Kyrie for their first concert of the 2022/23 season! Founded in 2010, this choir is dedicated to bringing Slavic sacred music to the Edmonton community. They are excited to be returning with a program featuring a broad variety of songs, ranging from Handel to Dolly Parton. The choir will also be joined by acclaimed soloist Yurii Hryhorash from L’viv Ukraine. Don’t miss out on this memorable night of music!
