3) Molly Johnson | Mar. 19

Molly Johnson is known as one of Canada’s greatest voices. She is a JUNO award-winning jazz artist whose voice is gifted with the perfect balance of humour, joy, surprise, sassiness, and love. She reaches an emotional depth that evokes the feeling of a dark smoky nightclub. This Saturday, you’ll get to feel this aura at The Arden Theatre. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office one hour before the show.

4) The Spring Equinox Festival | Mar. 19–24

Celebrate the beginning of spring, when the sun crosses the equator line from the southern to the northern hemisphere, with the Edmonton Chamber Music Society this weekend! This festival features three main concerts at various locations like Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Muttart Hall, and The Foundry Room, where there will be a special closing performance. Tickets and concert schedules can be found online.

5) Così Fan Tutte by Edmonton Opera | Mar. 19–25

Mozart’s beloved romantic comedy opera, Così Fan Tutte first premiered 232 years ago. This weekend, the Edmonton Opera brings you an all-new production. A women-led creative team has reimagined the original Italian translation of “women are like that” to examine the way women are portrayed in the story from a 21st-century perspective. Così Fan Tutte tells the story of two sisters who are put to the test when their fiancés try to pull an elaborate prank to prove their faithfulness. Tickets are available online, and the first show is on Saturday.

6) Peter Pan Goes Wrong | Until Mar. 23

This worldwide hit wraps up this Wednesday at the Citadel Theatre, with three extra shows added! Peter Pan Goes Wrong premiered in 2013 at the Pleasance Theatre in London, England, and came to North America for the first time. Written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields, this comedic play will have you laughing as it takes the original Peter Pan and throws in a twist: in short, anything that could go wrong in the original tale does. The show is approximately two hours with intermission.

7) Jane Eyre | Until Apr. 10

If you love classic fiction, Charlotte Brontë, or both, then you’re going to enjoy this world premiere of Jane Eyre coming to Edmonton this weekend. This production brings a sharp, witty, and modern feminist dive into one of literary history’s great characters. Jane Eyre is a young, brilliant woman trying to understand her identity and potential while navigating the treacherous waters of love and loyalty. Tickets are available online.
