This weekend in Edmonton brings new exhibits, family shows, festive fun, and so much more. What’s on your itinerary??
1) Opening weekend of Apollo: When We Went to the Moon
This new feature exhibit at the TELUS World of Science explores the triumph of human exploration, starting at the space race on the ground until finally humans flew through space and landed on the moon. Let this historical exhibit inspire more for the future!
2) Royal Canadian Family Circus | till Jun 19
The magnificent Big Top is up at West Edmonton Mall for the award-winning Royal Canadian International Circus. The show includes Daredevil extraordinaire Joseph Dominik Bauer of Switzerland on the Wheel of Destiny, the astounding Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team from America’s Got Talent, and the powerhouse Motor Cycle Thrill Riders in the Globe with big tricks, stunts, and guts!
3) Beaumont Days | Jun 10–12
Celebrate in beautiful Beaumont all weekend with a midway, parade, stage shows, face painting, and more! The City Street Party on Friday includes street performers, Family Fun Zone, beer gardens, and food trucks. On Saturday, check out the morning parade and the new Beaumont Loves Talent Showcase, plus inflatables and puppet shows.
4) Jason Kenney’s Hot Boy Summer: The Musical | till Jun 12
How many final waves will we get of this fan-favourite Grindstone Theatre show?? If this is the last one for-real for-real this time, you won’t want to miss it. And if you’ve already seen it? Support your local arts and sing along!
5) Edmonton Riverhawks baseball games | Jun 10 & 11
The Edmonton Riverhawks take on the Port Angeles Lefties at two home games on REMAX Field this weekend. Make sure to grab a beer at the Craft Corner and sample some ballgame goodies from Century Hospitality. Saturday’s theme of “Strike Out Hate” Pride Night includes a dance party and pride-themed giveaways!
6) Sports Skills Competition | Jun 11
Want the chance to win $1000 in gift cards? This first-ever sports skills competition at South Edmonton Common lets you compete against fellow Edmontonians in basketball, soccer, football, and/or hockey to show off your skills and maybe win the grand prize. Other fun activities for the whole family include a retail market (with samples and prizes), bouncy castles, face-painting, and giveaways.
