It’s the July long weekend and there’s so much going on! Check out what’s happening around the city.

1) The first Alberta Avenue Night Market | June 30
The inaugural summer event features local vendors and family-friendly performers, giving an opportunity to connect with the community from 6–10 pm. Tonight’s event takes place in the Alberta Ave Community League Parking Lot (9210–118 Ave.)

2) Stand Up Show feat. Natasha Lyn Myles | Jun 30
Friday nights at Grindstone Theatre feature Canada’s top comics, and tonight it’s the Edmonton-based Natasha Lyn Myles and her humorous anecdotes.

3) Multiple Riverhawks Baseball games | Jun 30–July 2
It’s a full weekend of baseball activity over at RE/MAX Field against the Wenatchee Applesox. Plus, they’re all theme nights! June 30: Girls Rock + Taylor Swift Dance Party. July 1: Canada Day Fireworks. July 2: Filipino Fun.

4) African Fashion Week Edmonton 2023 | July 1–2
Before the runway, check out the AFWE Pop-up Market to support local Black-owned businesses from 12–6 pm, then at 6 pm get ready for the local and international designers showcase! And if that’s not enough, dance the night away at the afterparty.

5) Canada Day events | July 1
Of course we couldn’t forget the most festive day of the weekend, where venues around the city are hosting family-friendly activities and putting on fireworks shows. Whether it’s a concert in Windermere, fireworks over the river, sports and country music in ICE District, or Mainstreet entertainment in Leduc, you’re sure to find something fun!

6) Edmonton Stingers basketball game | July 3 
The Edmonton Stingers take on the Vancouver Bandits at the Edmonton EXPO Centre at 2 pm.

7) Summer Tubing at Rabbit Hill | Jun 30–July 3
The summer tubing installation is the first of its kind in Edmonton, with two longer and two shorter lanes to choose from. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
