This weekend in Edmonton includes a bilingual performance, celebrations of Black History Month, ice sculptures, and more.

1) AGA Live: 5 Artists 1 Love Celebrates 15 Years | February 27
This is a panel discussion for the upcoming AGA exhibition, Black Every Day, with creators Darren Jordan, Natalie Meyer, and Monique McFarlane. Find out more about this local group’s 15-year anniversary.

2) Une Soirée Avec Lucy Darling/An Evening With Lucy Darling | February 26–27
This family-friendly bilingual show from l’UniThéâtre includes comedy and magic! Lucy Darling is a 10-time award-winning entertainer featured in the Guinness Book of World Records. Live streaming online only, in both French and English.

3) Pick up delicious snacks & watch TWOSE’s amazing IMAX films at home
Watch a selection of IMAX documentary films, now available for video on demand. For only $1.30 CDN, you can rent one of their popular films for 72 hours. Film selection includes Dinosaurs Alive, Wild Ocean, Wonders of the Arctic, and Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs. If you plan well enough in advance, you can also add a Reception Box to your movie ticket (all orders must be placed by 9 am the day prior to showtime.)

4) Ice on Whyte Sculpture Tour | through February 28
Take yourself on a self-guided ice sculpture tour and stop in at one of their restaurant partners for a tasty treat. They have the ice sculpture locations on a Google map for easy navigation.

5) Edmonton Oilers vs Toronto Maple Leafs | February 27
On Saturday, the Oilers take on the Toronto Maple Leafs. Some Edmonton restaurants have game-day deals, and you can participate in the EOCF’s 50/50 raffle online.

6) Taste of Africa | February 27
This second annual event is celebrating Black History Month with online entertainment and food available to order for in-person pickup. The live-stream show will include a variety show, dance, storytelling, drumming, and more, while the take-out boxes will include samples of African and Caribbean cuisine.

7) Visit Chinatown for Lunar New Year Chinatown Discount Week | until February 27
If you love Edmonton’s Chinatown and its amazing businesses, you’ll want to declare it. Participating businesses will give you various discounts by saying the magic words, “I support Chinatown!”
