Whether you’re a visitor or resident, looking for your next ride or planning your next adventure, navigating Edmonton is easier with these helpful apps! Almost all of these apps are free and are available for both Apple and Android.

Getting Around

1) ETS Live® To Go
If you’re using Edmonton Transit to get around, this app has everything you need—except for your fare, of course. Get real-time arrival information, find nearby stops, and even save your favourite stops for quick lookup in the future. Their search feature allows you to quickly find routes to common destinations like libraries, schools, LRT stations, and even popular festivals.

2) MyEPark App
Exploring Edmonton by car? Pay for parking quickly and easily from your phone with the MyEPark app. You can add funds, check your remaining meter time, get reminders for when your parking session is about to expire, and find your car, along with a host of other handy features.

3) E-Scooter Apps
E-scooters are a fun, handy, eco-friendly way to zip around town, and Edmonton has many different scooter companies to choose from, so it’s easy to find your next ride. Scooter companies operating in Edmonton currently include Spin, Lime, and Bird. These companies’ apps allow you to find, unlock, and pay for your scooter while you’re out and about. Remember to stay safe and obey traffic laws while on the road!

4) Alltrails
Find your next walk, hike, or bike ride with this helpful app, which contains an enormous selection of curated trails. Each trail features a difficulty ranking, as well as information on trail elevation, duration and more. Make an account to save your favourite trails and share your ratings and reviews with the rest of the community. For pro features, like offline maps, you’ll need to pay a small subscription fee.

Experiencing Edmonton

1) History Check
Curious to check out historical landmarks near you? History Check’s comprehensive map allows you to find and learn more about historical points of interest in your area. It’s the perfect companion for day trips, allowing you to find hidden gems as you travel and explore.

2) Edmonton Queer History App
This app takes you on a free tour of notable spots in the history of Edmonton’s LGBTQ2SIA+ community. Watch videos, read newspaper clippings, and hear the stories of people who were there for notable and infamous moments in the continuing march for equal rights and social justice.

3) Edmonton Commonwealth Walkway
Explore the history, ecology, and culture of Edmonton’s River Valley with this walking tour app. The Commonwealth Walkway app offers five different tours: River, History, Family, Indigenous, and Winter, for a unique experience every time you go! The complete tour takes you between Government House and the 100 Street Funicular, with stops including High Level Bridge, the John Walter Museum, and more. Audio clips and historic photos immerse you in the rich heritage of the valley as you walk.

4) Street Food App
Want to know what food trucks are in your area today? Want to check where your favourite truck is going to be this weekend? Want to see which food trucks everyone’s been raving about? You can do it all with this handy app, which allows food trucks to announce their upcoming locations and hours, as well as daily specials. Hosting a special event? You can also arrange food truck catering right through the app.

5) Geocaching
There are over 4000 geocaches in Edmonton alone, making it a wonderland for treasure hunters! Learn more about this fun outdoor activity with our Geocaching blog series, and download the official Geocaching app to join the cacher community and find caches near you. The app contains an interactive map, as well as ratings and reviews of caches to help you find the perfect geocaching adventure.
