Broadway’s “Mean Girls”

We are officially back into the swing of things! Let us entertain you with the goings on in the city, from Broadway shows to comedy shows there some this for everyone this weekend in Edmonton.

  1. 1. Abbas Wahab Comedy | Jan 12-13 
  2. He’s baaack! Comedic sensation Abbas Wahab is back in Edmonton for two nights in a row at The Grindstone Comedy Theatre. Known for his viral ​“job interview” series, which parodies the hiring process of popular jobs and companies, Abbas Wahab is hilarity personified. Join him for a barrelful of laughter. 
  3. 2. Crush “Canada’s Ultimate Tribute” to Bon Jovi | Jan 13 
  4. Crush is an amalgamation of talent, diversity, and attitude that truly make this band “Canada’s Ultimate Tribute” to Bon Jovi. Sing along to well known favourites such as “Livin’ on a Prayer,” “Bed of Roses,” and more as you rock into the night. 
  5. 3.Broadway’s “Mean Girls” | Until Jan 14 
  6. Direct from Broadway, Mean Girls is the hilarious hit musical from an award-winning creative team, including comedian and writer  Tina Fey (“30 Rock”), composer Jeff Richmond  (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), lyricist Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde) and original director and choreographer Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon).   7. 4. Spirit of Ukraine | Jan 14

The Spirit of Ukraine is a powerful and moving multimedia presentation of classical music, visual art and poetry of Ukrainian-Canadian artists, sending a message that Ukrainian people and their art are not forgotten during this ongoing war. Presenting the Rodin violin concerto is soloist Anna Kozak, with poetry written and presented throughout the event by Veronika Ivanytska. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to celebrate Ukrainian heritage. 
  9. 5. Chronos in the Hall | Jan 14 
  10. Join Chronos Vocal Ensemble for a family-friendly, afternoon concert drawing from the choir’s ten years of choral excellence. Chronos presents a varied program of music for unaccompanied voices. This includes new works by Edmonton and Canadian composers featured on the ensemble’s four albums, along with traditional choral repertoire and highlights from programs enjoyed by  audiences over the last decade.
