Shumka’s “Nutcracker” is the perfect holiday treat!

  4. Edmonton’s award-winning children’s choir, Cantilon Chamber Choir, joins the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra to perform works inspired by Christmas and holiday traditions. Enjoy classic carols from centuries past including “O Holy Night,” “Deck The Halls,”  “O Come All Ye Faithful,”and  “Silent Night”  to charming new carols by John Rutter, this is a perfect way to get into the holiday spirit.

  6. Face to Face is a dense and captivating duet about the ambiguities of communication,in which the body becomes a key that opens endless windows. Using hand gestures, rhythmic play,and simple embraces, Naishi Wang and his collaborator Lukas Malkowski,speak through movements.

An annual Christmas tradition, Shumka’s Nutcracker blends the grace and lyrical nature of classical movement with the strength and power of Ukrainian character dance, leaving audiences exhilarated and entertained. The cast of over 80 features Shumka dancers, youth from the Shumka School of Dance, the Clara’s Dream Choir, and special guest artists from Ukraine’s top dance companies.

A new multi-leveled set, a 3 piece band, even sexier German terrorists, 2 acts, and all are ready for you to have a great night.

  16. This free family-friendly event will include free skate rentals and skating lessons, a DJ, Indigenous and cultural performances and a variety of holiday activities! Take a twirl on the ice rink under the magical glow of canopy lights, strung over the City Hall ice rink, and bask in the ambiance of a new interactive art installation, moonGARDEN. Watch as the lights on the holiday tree at Sir Winston Churchill Square switch from white to festive holiday colours.
