The Chinook Series | February 6–16
Three hot cultural festivals — Canoe, Expanse, and the Fringe — have joined forces to present this diverse and daring showcase of avant-garde theatre and dance to celebrate non-traditional and unique productions by local and international artists.

Silver Skate Festival | February 7–17
Family fun includes traditional Silver Skate races, figure skating presentations, sleigh rides, live musical and theatrical entertainment, snow sculpting, and free snowshoe, skate, and ski rentals. Plus, explore an ice castle built specially from icicles! Check out their adults-only fundraiser on February 11 with castles, kegs, and casks.

Canadian Birkebeiner Ski Festival | February 7–9
This epic cross-country ski saga, beginning at the Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area, attracts more than 2,000 skiers from all over the world and has grown to become the largest classic-style cross-country ski event in Canada. There are plenty of activities so that people of all ages and athletic abilities can join in on the fun!

Winefest | February 14 & 15
At this all-inclusive event, one ticket gets you access to unlimited samples of hundreds of local and international wines, from sparkling whites to sweet ports! While you indulge your inner sommelier, you can enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres at this wonderland of wine. The festival will also be accepting donations of non-perishable food items and money for the Edmonton Food Bank.

Wildfire Improv Festival | February 4–23
This festival brings together students from all across Alberta for three hilarious improv tournaments. You’ll be laughing out loud at the Nosebowl from February 4–9, and howling the night away at the Wildfire Junior tournament from February 18–23.

SkirtsAFire Festival | February 27–March 8
This multidisciplinary arts festival supports and celebrates the work of female artists. Running in conjunction with International Women’s Day (March 8), this festival features song, dance, spoken word, theatre, readings, magic, comedy, film, yoga, cabaret, and more that reflect the diversity of the thriving arts community in Alberta.
