Edmonton Downtown Dining Week is a 12-day celebration of Downtown’s culinary scene. This celebration kicks off today, from March 30 to April 10. Over 50 participating restaurants will offer multi-course, fixed-price menus. These fixed prices are $20 for a multi-course lunch or brunch and $35, $50, or $65 for a multi-course dinner. While tips, taxes, alcohol and other beverages are usually not included in these prices, some restaurants do include drinks in their deals. For example, dinner at Say Uncle comes with a pint of any draft. Some new and notable participating downtown restaurants include Continental Treat, May, Envie, and 5th Street Food Hall. A full list of participating restaurants and menus can be found on the Downtown Dining Week website.

Don’t forget to take note of the events that will be happening during the week. On April 4, from 7–8:30 pm, “The Beer from Here” will bring you an evening of storytelling and beer tasting at Craft Beer Market. Scott Messenger, author of Tapping the West: How Alberta’s Craft Beer Industry Bubbled Out of an Economy Gone Flat, will tell the story of the development of independent brewing in Alberta. Tickets are available online and include a flight (6 samples).

The second event, on April 9, offers a one-hour tour of the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market. This is your opportunity to meet vendors, sample fresh produce, and go home with a bag full of goods and ten dollars in City Market Bucks. Tickets are available for purchase online.

Edmonton Downtown Dining Week is your chance to bring your friends, families, or anyone else you’d like to share a meal with and celebrate the flavours of Edmonton’s diverse culinary scene. Stick to the familiar or try something new—the possibilities are endless.
