Kingsway Mall, in collaboration with Promoting Artists Redefining Kulture (PARK), has created a one-of-a-kind dining experience that brings together art, mystery, and—of course—some of Edmonton’s tastiest eats and treats.
Eat & Seek opened June 1st on the west side of the Kingsway Mall, near the main entrance. With room for 80 guests, the space is equal parts art installation and open-air patio. A dedicated cleaning staff ensures the safety of patrons throughout the day. The artists behind the concept and visuals of the project, Nicole Wolf and Chris Provins, have sought to encourage a sense of wonder and play in guests as they experience the space, whether dining or simply exploring. Oversized murals, hopscotch boards, and word searches invite guests to immerse themselves in a world of flowing shape and colour, discovering hidden messages along the way.
Through Eat & Seek, Edmontonians are encouraged to support local eateries as the restaurant industry recovers from the impact of COVID restrictions. The experience also shines a spotlight on local artists and the power of collaboration to create something new and unexpected. Visitors can share their visit to Eat & Seek with the #EATnSEEKYEG hashtag.
Eat & Seek will be open to the public until Autumn 2021. You will also soon be able to experience the art installation from home on the Kingsway Mall website.
