When love is in the air, so are incredible deals and goodies. Treat your Valentine or Palentine (or treat yo’ self!) with these offers from Edmonton restaurants and shops. (Edit: these lists got much longer than anticipated, so we broke them up into longer dedicated posts.)

Gifts/Goodies

1) Local Surprise Gift Bag from Silver Skate Festival
Order deadline: Feb 9
Pickup/delivery dates: Feb 11–12
Details: Curated by the Silver Skate Festival, these surprise gift bags are filled with all-new locally made products. Each bag will contain an assortment of locally crafted edible delights and other non-edible surprises that everyone can enjoy, all while supporting various Edmonton businesses. Choose from 1 of 4 curated boxes. Add-ons with wine, beer, and meals are available.

2) Rebite Cafe’s Valentine’s Day Treats 
Pickup available: Feb 10–13, 11 am–2 pm
Details: The handmade Valentine’s Goody Box includes hot chocolate bombs, cupcakes, sugar cookies, chocolate truffles, chocolate marshmallow pops, and chocolate bark. You can also get them infused with liquor or buy them individually!

3) Bloom Cookie’s Cookiegrams & Valentine’s Box
Order deadline: Starting Feb 7, they are launching pick-up orders for the week of Feb 9–13. Delivery Cookiegrams are sold out.
Details: Each box include 1 dozen cookies, which are all egg-, dairy-, and nut-free (aka totally vegan!).  With every box sold a $5 donation will be made to the Sexual Assault Center of Edmonton (SACE), which supports people impacted by sexual violence and engages communities to promote respect and uphold a culture of consent. The Valentine’s Box includes 1 dozen cookies and 1 cookie cup, with the option to add a donation to SACE.

4) The Art of Cake’s Valentine’s Treats
Pickup: Pre-order for pickup Feb 12–14
Details:
 Various options are available from this local cafe & bakery. Get a box of “Love at First Bite” macarons, individually-wrapped “You Are My Person” cookies, or a “High on Love” Valentine’s High Tea with savouries, sweets, and flower add-ons.

5) Winspear Centre’s Valentine’s Jukebox
Order deadline: Feb 11 at 12 pm MST
Details: Create a custom musical Valentine, featuring an ESO couple to deliver your custom message and perform a romantic piece of music. You’ll receive a video with your custom message and the special performance by Sunday, February 14 at noon.

6) Italian Centre’s Valentine Gift Bag
Details: This bag of sweet and savoury treats includes Nude alfajores, chocolate-covered dates, cheese, and more. While product selections may vary, everything is ready to open, eat, and enjoy!

7) Ohana Donuterie’s Sweetheart Box
Pickup: Feb 14 only
Details: Each box includes six heart-shaped donuts, with 2 of each flavour (Nutella, Chocolate Strawberry, and Lavender Earl Grey).

8) Citadel Theatre’s Living Room Love Songs
Available: Feb 14–17
Details: Nuela Charles, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, John Wort Hannam, Tara Jackson, Audrey Ochoa, and Farren Timoteo each perform a set of three songs all about love. Enjoy this online video concert full of timeless classics and original works with your loved ones in your own living room. Note: This is a fundraiser in support of The Citadel Theatre.


Take-Home Meals

1) Under the High Wheel’s Valentine’s XOX Box
Order deadline: Requires 24-hours notice
Details: This charcuterie box includes an assortment of cheeses, meats, crackers, dips, seasonal fruit, nuts, fresh bread, homemade truffles, chocolate-covered strawberries, and more. Available in two sizes: XOX Box for 2 or Self-Love Box for 1. Add-ons include a locally handmade charcuterie board (to keep!) and wine. Modifiers are available for vegan and gluten-free options.

2) Craft Beer Market’s Virtual Brewmaster’s Dinner
Order deadline: Feb 13
Pickup: Feb 14, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Details: Brewmaster kits include four courses paired with complementing beer. Menu includes seared tuna, sous vide striploin, and tiramisu. Then join them on Zoom for a virtual dinner and drink experience (Feb 14, from 7:30 pm–10 pm).

3) Northern Chicken’s Valentine’s Date Night Dinner
Order deadline: available to order till end of business day on Feb 14
Details: The Date Night Dinner includes 4 pieces of chicken, two small sides, either 1 alcoholic or 2 non-alcoholic beverages, and a Chili Hot Chocolate Brownie. Also comes with a tote bag!

4) El Beso’s Valentine’s Day Dinners
Menu available: Feb 14 (pre-orders open now)
Details: Their Valentine’s Day 3-Course Dinner for 2 includes Guacamole & Chips, a Heart-Shaped Taco Platter (with 15 tacos!), and Tres Leche Cake. You can also order the Heart-Shaped Taco Platter separately, and add on tasty extras like one of their pre-batched cocktails or cocktail kits.

5) Shōjō Izakaya’s Valentine’s Day Dinners
Order deadline: Feb 9
Pickup: Feb 14 only (5–8 pm)
Details: The 4-course meals (for either 2 people or 1 person) include Crunchy Japanese Slaw, choice of appetizer, choice of entree, and Asian Pear Trifle for dessert. Drinks, cocktail kits, and add-on appetizers also available!

Activities/Events

1) Paint with Love: A Virtual Fundraising Paint Night
Date: Feb 13, from 6–9 pm
Details: Each ticket includes access for 2 people for the virtual paint night event with local artist Joanne Ngo. Party decorations, treats, and art supplies will be delivered right to your door. All profits from this event will go to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

2) Clay & Cupcake’s Sweetheart Weekend
Dates: Feb 13–14, with limited bookings available every 2 hours starting at 10 am
Details: Book a table for 2 to paint your own pottery pieces at this Edmonton studio. Get a free cupcake and 10% off regular-priced pottery. And if you can’t finish your piece in the allotted time? You’ll get some paints and brushes to take home so you can finish, at no extra charge!

3) Two Live Virtual Events from Chef Table Living
Dates: Feb 13 or Feb 14
Details: Chef Table Living is offering two live virtual events. The Valentine’s Couples Yoga & Chocolate Tasting Tour on Feb 13 includes a virtual 50-min couple yoga session and five 50g local artisanal chocolates. The Valentine’s Live Cooking Tour on Feb 14 includes a chef kit of raw ingredients for a two-course meal, a 1.5-hr virtual cooking demo with chef Levi Biddlecomb from Why Not, and a dessert from local bakery Chocorrant.

4) A Valentine’s Day Magic Show & Dinner Event
Event date: Feb 12
Booking deadline: Feb 7 (OR when tickets sell out, as they are limited)
Details: Hosted at The Westin, this structured, space-designed, and socially distanced event will have limited capacity. Tickets include a 3-course dinner for 2, a 50-min magic show performance by Sheldon Casavant, 1 night of accommodation at The Westin hotel, and an in-room bottle of wine after the event.

5) Virtual Singles Cooking Classes
Event date: Feb 13
Booking deadline: Feb 13
Hosted by Edmonton’s MilkCrate, this is a virtual event for singles to meet while cooking. Their chef, Steven Brochu, will show participants how to cook an entree and a dessert. They will provide the ingredient list and equipment list prior to the event. While this is geared towards singles, it is not limited to them—all are welcome. Choose between two class times: WLM/MLM from 5–6:30 pm or LGBTQ2 from 7–8:30 pm.
