Though the Lunar New Year takes place on January 28, you can join the festivities around Edmonton over the next few weeks! Mark the Year of the Rooster by taking in traditional music, dance, games, and crafts at one of these Lunar New Year events.

Lunar New Year Extravaganza | January 14 & 15
The Edmonton Chinatown Multi-Cultural Centre will celebrate the Lunar New Year with a marketplace of arts and crafts and a fantastic showcase of Chinese performers.

Lunar New Year Firecracker Parade | January 28 | 11 am – 5 pm
Take in the exciting new year events, including lion dances, a firecracker parade, and the dragon dance. The parade will begin at Pacific Rim Mall and move northward up 97 Street toward the Ukrainian Cultural Centre, which will host a market.

Chinese New Year at the Conservatory | February 4 | 4 pm – 8 pm
Celebrate the Year of the Rooster with traditional music and dance in the annual Zodiac show! At 6 pm, a dazzling fireworks display behind the glass pyramids will light up the sky!
