“Black Friday” was once primarily known to Edmontonians as the devastating tornado of 1987. Now, the phrase is getting a new local connotation — and a much less bleak one, at that.
In conjunction with the outrageous Black Friday shopping deals and discounts offered in the United States, many retailers have started to offer the sales at their Canadian locations as well. In turn, many local retailers are also taking part by offering discounts and specials of their own. Even though this day doesn’t follow any holiday celebrated in Canada, it’s become a holiday for shoppers who are eager to check out some of the biggest discounts of the seasons.
Are you ready to shop until you drop on Friday, November 29? Here are some spots for shopping extravaganzas around the city:
