Everyone feels a “little bit country” when Big Valley Jamboree rolls in to town! Cowboy hats and boots are adorned for this outdoor country music extravaganza, where a lively crowd enjoys concerts from top country musicians. This year, Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, and Alan Jackson headline the four-day series of performances.

Big Valley Jamboree takes place in Camrose, AB (about a one-hour drive from Edmonton) August 1 -4, 2013. Visit www.bigvalleyjamboree.com for tickets and more information.

Can’t make it to Camrose (or can’t get tickets) for the event? If the excitement of country music and the western lifestyle has you eagerly putting on your cowboy hat, two-step your way over to one of these other great events:

Big Valley Jamboree Launch Party
Tuesday, July 30, 9 pm
The Ranch Roadhouse is getting the BVJ weekend started early with live performances by Brett Kissel and Big and Rich’s Cowboy Troy. After that, DJ Shocker will be playing country music favourites for you to two-step to all night long! Click here for tickets and for more information. 18 + event.

Cook County Saloon
Friday & Saturday nights, 8 pm – 2 am
Head to one of the most authentic country-western bars in town for line dancing, mechanical bull riding, and plenty of country music — and none of that pop/country crossover stuff, either. Fancy yourself a good dancer? Take part in their Two Stepping Challenge every Saturday night for a chance to win great prizes!

Canadian Country Music Week
September 5 – 8
This is the biggest night of the year for country music fans, and this year locals and visitors to Edmonton have the opportunity to experience the excitement up close! Meet your favourite musicians during FanFest; watch intimate songwriting and guitar sets; discover new, upcoming artists; party with nationally recognized talents during Rock’n Country Cabaret; and cheer on the top artists during the prestigious Canadian Country Music Award Ceremony on July 8. For tickets and more information, visit www.ccma.org.
