Sometimes, five just isn’t enough! Here are five MORE ways to enjoy the beautiful nearby city of St. Albert, from a Ukrainian culinary wonderland to stunning river views—and everything in between.

1) Take a stroll through the St. Albert Botanic Park
Freely open to the public sunrise to sunset year-round, the St. Albert Botanic Park features five acres of beautiful gardenscapes. See dazzling Asiatic lilies and roses, stroll the winding brick pathway of Crabapple Lane, or simply enjoy the majesty of nearly 40 varieties of trees and shrubs growing throughout the park. You can also find adorable home and garden goods in the gift shop.

2) Go on a culinary journey at Taste of Ukraine
From the moment you step inside this St. Albert favourite, you’ll feel like you’ve entered a folk tale! This unique restaurant transports you to a quaint Ukrainian village, complete with thatched roofs, glowing trees, and plenty of colourful murals. On the menu, you’ll find delicious eats from across Ukraine—from classic perogies to cherry ribs to the Dnipro Dream, a hearty dish of wild-caught salmon in puff pastry with lemon dill sauce. Taste of Ukraine also offers several options for ready-to-eat or frozen take-home meals so that you can bring the magic home with you.

3) Immerse yourself in nature along the Bellerose River Walk
These beginner-friendly walking trails, located in northeast St. Albert, follow the banks of the winding Sturgeon River. Enjoy views of forests, meadows, and plenty of wildlife—watch for beavers swimming along the water’s edge! The trails are also great for cycling or bringing along your pooch for some good old-fashioned fresh air.

4) Get schooled in history at the Little White School
Located in Mission Park, the Little White School first opened in 1948. Today, this historic two-room schoolhouse is managed by the Musée Héritage Museum. You can book a tour of the school through the museum and get a firsthand look at the community’s history. Recent restorations of the school ensure full immersion for visitors. Additionally, a lift at the back of the school means the space is now fully accessible.

5) Take in a show at The Arden Theatre
The Arden is St. Albert’s go-to destination for top-quality entertainment. From world-class concerts and theatre to circus acts and film screenings, there’s always something fun on the horizon! Both local and international acts perform here, cementing The Arden’s place as one of the city’s most beloved community hubs. Plenty of their events are family-friendly, making for the perfect family night out. Check their event calendar for upcoming shows and tickets.
