The Freewill Players bring the comedy, romance, and tragedy of Shakespeare’s iconic plays to life under the stars in the beautiful, lush Hawrelak Park. Celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year, the Freewill Players present performances of King Lear and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Don’t miss the kick-off event “Hooked on Bardics” on June 23, 7:30 pm — a visiting troupe of improv comedians from the UK perform hilarious, unscripted Shakespeare-inspired improv. You never know who you’ll run in to when over 1,500 roving artists take to the streets for a variety of shows featuring magic, comedy, puppets, juggling, storytelling, music, fire tricks, and more!

Art Walk transforms the streets of Old Strathcona into an outdoor gallery and studio featuring hundreds of working artists. Visitors can stroll along Whyte Avenue and admire the diverse selection of art in all mediums and purchase affordable, original pieces from local artists. New this year is the Sand on Whyte exhibition, where award-winning artists from BC and the Netherlands will be sculpting giant sand carving creations throughout the festival.

Dozens of Edmonton’s finest chefs create special menus for this white-tented, ten-day affair where hungry guests can sample a variety of delicious food, wine, and beer while enjoying live music and street performers.
