OTTO Food & Drink
All about creating a comfortable meeting space, OTTO Food & Drink dishes up great food and craft beer that’ll convince you to hang around. Sausages rule the menu here — which are crafted by Steven Furgiuele of Fuge Fine Meat — and they’re served up sharing style with delicious sides. Try the OTTO Dog, a smoked bratwurst spiced with caraway, garlic, and a smoked gouda, and the roasted sunchokes in a tomato salsa and crispy fries are perfect accompaniments. Wash it all down with a pick from the extensive beer menu, comprised mostly of Alberta brews.

Chartier
In 1895, Father Morin suggested the name Chartier for the small French colony before it became Beaumount, and now that moniker finds a use in this relaxed and rustic Quebecois-style restaurant. Trust us — it’s worth travelling from Edmonton to this bedroom community to savour the Beaumont Smoked Meat Sandwich — house-smoked, slow-cooked brisket on house-made sourdough with a thyme Dijon mustard. The weekend bread window may be the finest feature of this restaurant. It serves fresh loaves — and flaky croissants and fresh-baked donuts — Friday through Sunday until they sell out (often by midafternoon!).

Local Public Eatery
The latest neighbourhood pub on the happening Jasper Avenue, Local Public Eatery introduces fun extras to the typical bar scene. Order one of their signature cocktails — fresh-squeezed lemonade with a kick of Jack Daniels or a spicy El Caesar garnished with a pepperoni stick — served in a cute boot glass, and lean back on a comfy chesterfield or leather wingback chair. You must try the delectable Baja Fish Tacos with beer-battered fish, shredded cabbage, and a refreshing pico de gallo. To top off the evening, challenge your friend to a nostalgic game of Battle Pac-Man or shuffleboard!
