Easter is hopping up! It’s an exciting time to welcome spring and new life. We compiled a list of fun Easter activities in Edmonton to help you celebrate with your family and welcome the warmer weather ahead!

1) Easter Bunny Photos

Bonnie Doon Centre | April 9-16

Everyone’s favourite bunny is back! Get photos with the Easter Bunny at Bonnie Doon Centre from April 9 to 16. Online bookings are recommended, but drop-ins are also welcome. If you book early, you’ll receive a swag bag with your photo purchase (while supplies last). Visit the website to confirm time availabilities. 

Londonderry Mall | April 8-16

You can get double the fun at Londonderry Mall, where you can get your photo taken with the Easter Bunny AND Spring Fairy from April 8 to 16. Reservations can be made online, but walk-ins are welcome. You can visit the website to confirm time slots. 

2) Fantasyland Hotel Easter Brunch Buffet | April 17

L2 Grill at the Fantasyland Hotel will celebrate Easter with an EGGS-travagant brunch on April 17! Brunch items include coffee-spiced slow roasted AAA Prime rib, crepes, waffles, and other breakfast selections, seafood, salad, and entrees such as roasted yam and potato hash. A list of menu items is available online. There will be seatings at 10:30 am and 12:30 pm and spots can be reserved on Eventbrite, by email (events@flh.ca), or by calling 780-444-5500. Did we mention that the Easter Bunny will be in attendance?

3) Easter Brunch at Fairmont Hotel Macdonald | April 17

This Easter Sunday Brunch at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald will make you feel like royalty. Guests can enjoy over 70 culinary dish options. Fairmont Hotel Macdonald’s Executive Chef, Jiju Paul, has planned this extravagant experience, serving countless traditional brunch items and unique options like hand-shucked oysters, crepe flambé, Peking duck, and fresh sushi and sashimi. This grand celebration will bring you the best views of the River Valley, world-class service, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny while surrounded by more than 100 years of history. Reservations can be made online, and for those who wish to have an overnight Easter experience, Fairmont Hotel Macdonald has designed guest room packages for families and couples.

4) Skyview Centre Easter Magic Show | April 16

Enjoy a half-hour of laughter and fun-filled magic on April 16 at the Skyview Centre. The magic will be held outdoors in the parking lot at 13580-137 Ave in front of Saks OFF 5th. Showtimes are at 1, 3, and 4:30 pm. This is the perfect opportunity for your young ones to be amazed! There is also a $20 suggested cash donation that will go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Edmonton.

5) Spring Market | April 16

The Multicultural Heritage Centre Spring Market will be hosted at the PERC gym on April 16. Vendors at this event include guest speakers, non-profits, local artisans, and small businesses. Three Moons Charcuterie will be leading the canteen on site for all your hunger needs. There will also be an Easter crafts corner for kids and fun door prizes! The market is on from 11 am to 4 pm. 

6) Signatures Spring Craft Sale | April 29–May 1

Yes, technically after Easter, BUT it is a welcoming of spring nonetheless. Signatures Butterdome Spring Craft Sale features the works of over 180 makers, designers, artisans, and artists from coast to coast. This is a unique marketplace, celebrating the skills and talents of Canadians exclusively. Since 2006, the event has been a highly-anticipated spring shopping experience in Edmonton and has quickly become one of Alberta’s favourite craft sales. See the magic of creations by meeting these stellar creatives, hearing their stories, and experiencing their works firsthand. The craft sale is happening at the University of Alberta’s Butterdome. General admission is $8, and children 12 and under can enter for free. Tickets are available online or at the box office.

7) Easter at the Edmonton Valley Zoo | April 18

Easter fun is coming to the Edmonton Valley Zoo on April 18! From 1-4 pm, celebrate spring and new life with an Easter craft, scavenger hunt, and touch table. Don’t forget to stop by the Urban Farm to see some bunnies, in true Easter spirit! A roving magician will be making rounds to perform mini magic shows for guests as they stroll around the Zoo. That’s not all—the resident animals are celebrating too by enjoying special Easter treats! 

8) Easter Trail Rides | Apr. 17

All you horse lovers can enjoy an Easter Trail Ride at the Whitemud Equine Centre on April 17! The guided trail ride will be 30 minutes long and is suitable for kids 8 and up. Helmets, hot chocolate, and cool Easter-themed gift bags are included for this special occasion. There are four riding times: 12, 12:30, 1, and 1:30 pm. Book your slot online to get in on all the fun!

9) Strathcona County Egg Hunt | Apr. 16 

This Easter egg hunt is like no other. Over 50,000 chocolate and golden eggs will be hiding throughout Broadmoor Lake Park. That’s right, over 50,000! The egg hunt starts at 10 am, so have your baskets ready. There will also be other family-friendly activities like a kid’s craft area, a petting zoo, and a free throw challenge. There will be free coffee and giveaways, and, yes, the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance. The best part of it all? It’s entirely free!
