Well It's that time of year again! Time for the Comic Strip's popular Funniest Person with a Day Job Contest. This is the 17th year doing Funniest Person and it gets better and better every time. If you have a day job and think you're funny this is the contest for you. Oh yeah if you win, they will give you a cool $1,000.00. Anyone can enter, all you need is five minutes of original material. It can be anything as long as it gets the laughs you're good. Each week for five weeks they pick three finalist to go to the semi-finals. The contest starts April 16th and goes until the final on June 4th. Hosted by radio personality Terry Evans. Celebrity guest judges will give their feedback on the acts.

Candy & the Beast is a mystery-thriller set in the town of Black Falls where everyone has awakened to the realization that they have a serial killer problem. A series of residents have gone missing — only to turn up dead. Meanwhile, a pack of wild wolves roam the woods that surround the town, seducing local domesticated dogs to their doom. Candy Reese and her little brother Kenny set out from the trailer court to track down the killer and bring them to justice.

When a mysterious stranger arrives with some surprising news, King is forced to confront his destiny and his legacy to his people. Directed by Edmonton's Patricia Darbasie, who recently directed the Citadel's production of Heaven.

Joe and his dog Mister lose their home, and facing separation, head into the world for one last grand adventure together. The world seems broken, but Joe sees magic in the mundane, beauty amidst brutality, and life in the lost and lonely. He and Mister encounter Mother Nature, Santa Claus, Jesus and the Tooth Fairy, witness a troupe of homeless players in a cardboard theatre, and show a disenfranchised teen how to jump over the moon in a playground rocket ship. A seemingly simple tale of a simple man, Wonderful Joe is a love letter to imagination, hope, and the art of filling broken hearts with gold.

The 116th Annual Edmonton Music & Speech Arts Festival (formerly known as the Edmonton Kiwanis Music Festival) creates over 2,500 opportunities for over 20,000 music students, actors, musicians, and music lovers to perform in front of an audience and receive professional adjudication. Performances are FREE to attend. Choirs will run April 15-19; Bands will run April 22-26; the regular Solo Festival will run April 20 – May 1. The spectacular show will thrill audiences with stellar performances of chart-topping songs. The band will join radio partners to create a contest for local high school choirs to win the opportunity to perform a song live on stage with FOREIGNER, together with a donation to their music program.
