May 26 - June 11
Montague Gray, Muzak connoisseur, makes it a policy to be as unobtrusive as the music he so passionately loves. But when the dulcet tones in which he finds his quiet joy are suddenly no longer present his building’s elevator, he realizes he must take a stand. This brand new comedy, written specially for Teatro by award-winning playwright and noted screenwriter Elyne Quan, is an amusing and poignant tale of a modest man’s increasingly heroic journey to rescue his beloved blandly sweet strains from extinguishment in a changing world which inexplicably laughs at what it cannot understand. An array of unexpected allies and foes ensures that Montague’s quest is as startling and provocative as his Muzak is not.
