A Year with Frog and Toad

November 24, 2022 - December 4, 2022

From November 24 to December 4, St. Albert Children’s Theatre (SACT) invites you on an enchanting journey with two great friends as they hop, sing and dance their way through a year of woodland adventures, all the while celebrating the differences that make them unique and special.

A Year with Frog and Toad?tells the charming story of a friendship between two amphibious friends that endures throughout the seasons as they plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding and learn important life lessons along the way. This whimsical show mixes melody and wit with plenty of heart, for an exuberant theatrical experience for all ages!

“After the last couple of years of sacrifice and solitude, this is the show everyone needs right now. It celebrates friendship and the value of connection,” says Mayor Cathy Heron. “It reminds us that friendship, above all else, should be celebrated, cherished and never taken for granted.”

A talented cast of 32 actors, aged eight years through to adult, bring this touching story to life at The Arden Theatre. They’ll perform a series of matinee and evening performances that will be accompanied by a live, eight-piece band. Two parent-child teams are also involved in the production, proving the show really is fun for the whole family!

The St. Albert Children’s Theatre’s production of?A Year with Frog and Toad?is an adaptation of the three-time Tony Award-nominated Broadway production that’s based on the popular children’s book series written by Arnold Lobel. The original musical was written by brothers Willie Reale (book and lyrics) and Robert Reale (music).

Tickets start at $23.50 each (plus facility fees) and are on sale online at, in-person at the Arden Theatre Box Office (5 St. Anne Street) or by phone at 780-459-1542.
