Saturday is Star Wars day (May the Fourth be with you), when everyone, not just the super-fans, celebrates one of the most successful story franchises in human history.  Edmonton has its fair share of Force-attracting events!

Star Wars at the Capitol | Saturday

The Capitol Theatre, inside Fort Edmonton Park, is running a special showing Star Wars: A New Hope, the original movie that started it all.

Across the Stars | Saturday

The Mill Creek Colliery Band invites you on a trip “Across the Stars” in this space-themed concert.

May the Perfect Force Be With You | Saturday

The Excentrica Women’s Chamber Chorus present One Night Only; May the Perfect Force Be With You.  A range of selections from Renaissance to Contemporary, Sanctuary to Stage.

LEGO® Star Wars Make-and-Take | Saturday

One for all the family.  All participating Chapters and Indigo stores are offering free activities, storytime, a free Millennium Falcon™ make-and-take, and maze activities from the Star Wars Mazes book.


Women’s National Basketball Association Canada Game | Sports

The 2024 WNBA Canada Game will be the second preseason WNBA game to ever be played in Canada and the fourth preseason WNBA game outside of the United States, following previous games in Toronto, Manchester, and Monterrey.

Jennifer Berezan in Concert | Music

Singer-songwriter Jennifer Berezan is an artist who called Edmonton home for a period of time and Alberta was central to her life during her formative years. While she eventually settled in Berkley California, which has been her home for a few decades, this gifted artist returns to Edmonton for a concert at the Cosmopolitan Music Society in the heart of Strathcona.

Unir | Ballet

Watch the world premiere of Unir with Ballet Edmonton. The final piece for the 2023/24 season is choreographed by company dancer Connor McLeary. The idea of “struggle” is an overarching theme within this piece, exploring how personal struggle can manifest itself physically. The movement, the music and the minds of each Ballet Edmonton artist have played a part in how this work has evolved.

Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony | Music

It’s a mystery why Schubert left his eighth symphony unfinished, although one historian claimed, “He could never have finished it because nothing could approach the originality, power, and skill of the first two movements.”  Enjoy this classical concert at the Winspeare Centre.
