We were invited recently to try the new Prime Rib Sunday Dinner at Prestons Restaurant & Lounge in the Coast Edmonton Plaza in the heart of downtown Edmonton and it did not disappoint! The restaurant has a modern and stylish interior, with plenty of seating options to choose from. The atmosphere was lively, but not too loud, making it perfect for a relaxing evening out.
When A CAPPELLA Catering took over the hotel’s restaurant operations, they wanted to bring diners a hint of nostalgia—specifically for a classic Sunday roast with your whole family.
The prime rib dinner included a 10-oz juicy and flavourful prime rib, cooked to perfection at a traditional medium rare and served with a savoury au jus. The sides, which included mashed potatoes, two dishes of seasonal vegetables, and a creamy horseradish sauce, were all equally delicious and complemented the prime rib perfectly. You would hardly expect the price to be only $35 per person, but that certainly aligns with the family-forward direction.
You can add on additional side dishes and dessert, and we chose the Yorkshire Pudding for an extra $12. The only complaint was that it was too large to finish. (But leftovers are always a delight, right?)
Even though we were full, we still absolutely had to finish the meal with the most fabulous White Chocolate Cheesecake. We forgot to take a photo of it because we dived right in!
The service was exceptional, with our server Michelle being attentive and friendly throughout the meal. She recommended the perfect red wine to complement the dishes, and everything was taken care of promptly and with a smile.
Overall, the Prime Rib Sunday Dinner at Prestons Restaurant & Lounge is worth trying for anyone looking for a satisfying and delicious meal. The quality of the food and the service were both excellent, making for a memorable dining experience that we would highly recommend.
Prime Rib Sundays starts Sunday, April 30 at 5 pm, and they are already taking reservations on Open Table. (Reservations are strongly recommended, but walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-serve basis.)
